2nd Sunday - Carmichael 9-8-19

When: Sunday, September 08, 2019
Where: Harrington Access, American River Parkway
Time: 9 AM - 11 AM

It was a beautiful fall-like day with cool temperatures, sunshine, and a pleasant breeze- a perfect atmosphere for Roots of Connection to celebrate 2 years of monthly gatherings. As we were setting up, a ground squirrel alarmed and an elder coyote crossed the parking lot. This older female coyote hasn't been seen in weeks...We discussed the southwest energy and the transition to west energy as part of the natural cycle. Guy then talked about seed saving and tricks of the trade including harvesting, storage, and even seed art. Ranger Bennett came by and shared a story about how ground squirrels protect themselves from rattlesnakes, and then we all engaged in lively conversation with each other while eating fresh fruit and muffins. Such gratitude for the river and all the beings that receive its gifts!
