WORKSHOPS / CLASSES - NATURE CONNECTION FOR PARENTS & TEACHERS WEEKEND WORKSHOP

Bird Language Workshop

Become more comfortable and confident teaching and learning outside!

At Roots of Connection, we hear statements like this often: “I want to take my kids/students into nature, but I just don’t know what to do when we get there.”

Workshops taught by Roots of Connection are built on the foundation of Coyote Mentoring and the book “Coyote’s Guide to Connecting With Nature”. The workshops also utilize lessons from Project Learning Tree, School Yard Habitats, creek restoration guides and other curriculums geared towards academic standards. Workshops guide participants through the Natural Learning Cycle and Core Routines that utilize child passions as methods of increasing connection to and awareness of a garden, school grounds, and natural settings.

They include indoor learning followed by outdoor field studies and applications and combine short lectures and hands-on activities. Participants will get dirty, sit on the ground, collect bugs, and activate their inner child. Attendees will leave feeling more connected and confident in teaching and learning in the outdoor world!

The natural world is arguably the best classroom there is. Kids and adults who spend time learning outdoors become better students, learn healthy habits, and are all around happier and better learners.
